Host Signal Processing Modem (HSP ModemTM) Chip

288I ASICThe PCT288I is a high speed HSP Modem chip  implementing ITU-T V.34bis protocols using the latest in Host Signal Processing  technology.  Several patents are pending on the PC-TEL HSP Modem software and hardware architecture.  The PCT288I supports baseline data/fax/voice communication features without  the expensive DSP data pump, controller, UART and memory components found in conventional DSP modems.  Luxury features such as simultaneous voice and data (DSVD) and HSP Speakerphone can be supported through a full-duplex audio chip. In the absence of a full-duplex audio chip, you can use  the low-cost PC-TEL ASIC/Voice CODEC for DSVD/HSP Speakerphone.

The HSP Speakerphone feature allows speakerphone support with any  full-duplex audio CODEC. HSP Speakerphone is just a software upgrade.

The PCT288I has been designed to operate in a Windows environment ensuring product compatibility over the life of the product.  The PCT family of products are software upgradable for speed, features and enhancements thus eliminating the need to ever have to "swap out" product.

The HSP Modem reference design, evaluation units, users manual, schematics and Gerber files will be provided on request to qualified customers.

Features:
  • 33.6K Data/14.4K Fax/ADPCM Voice/HSP Speakerphone/Radish Voice View  (AVD)/V.80
  • Optional DSVD/HSP Speakerphone as a free software upgrade through a full-duplex audio chip or with external low-cost PC-TEL Vocoder/Voice CODEC
