Delhi-based Creative E-Biz has been appointed as the national
distributor by O2 for the distribution of its XDA II model PDA phone
in the country.
With a price tag of around Rs 40,000, the product is specifically
targeted toward the high-end market.
Disclosing the plans of the company, Deepak Sharma, manager,
Creative E-Biz, said, "With such a price tag we are aiming to
capture the high-end market. Initially, we would be hitting the
metros with the product and would concentrate on these cities in
this quarter."
Operating on Microsoft's Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition, the XDA II
has a built-in camera and a 4096 color, touch-screen display as well
as supports Bluetooth . The PDA is powered by Intel's 400 MHz
processor and with 128 MB Ram.
Elaborating on the distribution strategy, Sharma said, "We have
decided to opt for the single-tier model wherein we will appoint
dealers instead of sub-distributors to push the product in the
market. This way we will be in a position to offer a better price to
end-users."
The distributor intends to add around 10 dealers in Delhi and
will rope in a minimum of five dealers in each of the metros. "This
number could be more, depending upon the requirement of each city,"
Sharma said.
After the entire process of appointing the partners is over, the
distributor plans to organize training sessions for them.
